Military Officers In Trouble As PMB Wields Big Stick

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier told Nigerians that he inherited an empty treasury from the past administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, and vowed to go after those that have looted the nation’s finances.
Daily Sun; Buhari probes military, Vanguard; FG probes N3.8trn missing oil funds, The Punch; Okonjo-Iweala spent $2.1bn without approval- says FG, The Nation; Four-man panel to probe how NNPC blew N3.8trn, as well as The Guardian; FG begins probe of NNPC, makes the front pages of the national dailies for Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who was a former General in the Nigerian army, he has declined to attach sentiment in his fight against corruption as he ordered the probe of the military institution. DAILY SUN reports that President Buhari, on Monday, June 29, ordered the military hierarchy to account for the number of weapons purchased to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East. He also ordered the Military High Command to make available records of the total amount of money it received from the Federal Government to fight insurgency.
Daily Sun gathered from a top military source that the decision was taken after Mr. President met with the service chiefs comprising the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-General Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase. The source said the President’s decision might not be unconnected with the grumbling in the military by some personnel, who felt that their bosses and their colleagues occupying strategic position had taken advantage of the counter-terrorism operations to enrich themselves.
The source, who agreed there was corruption in the military, further disclosed that most senior officers see the war against insurgency as an avenue to make money, hence, lobby to get posted to the North-East. He said unlike in the past when soldiers lobbied to go for international peace-keeping operations, because of the foreign currency they will make. He said soldiers now lobby for counter-terrorist war in the North-East because the profit is very huge.

SHOCKER! NNPC Generated N8.1trn, Pocketed N3.8trn

Revelations have been made on how the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) generated about N8.1trillion but paid only N4.3trillion to the federation account between 2012 and May 2015.
This was the disclosure of Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Monday, where he cited new details from the federal economic council meeting.
SHOCKER! NNPC Generated N8.1trn, Pocketed N3.8trn
According to Oshiomhole, the balance of the oil money, put at about N3.8trillion, was withheld and spent by the NNPC without approval or National Assembly appropriation.
The governor also told journalists, after the meeting, that from November 2014, about $2.1billion was withdrawn from the excess crude account without the approval of the National Economic Council (NEC).
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Friday, dissolved the board of the NNPC, to pave way for full investigation of the corporation, and the body led by Oshiomhole said Monday’s meeting was the first time the NNPC and the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, briefed the NEC, as directed by the president.
“This has never happened before and for us this is profound. We are talking about transparency, we are talking about change. And what we saw from those numbers I believe that Nigerians are entitled to know, is that whereas the NNPC claimed to have earned N8.1 trillion, what NNPC paid into the federation account from 2012 to May 2015 was N4.3trillion.
“What it means is that NNPC withheld and spent N3.8 trillion.
“The major revelation here is that for the entire federation — that is the federal government, the states and all the 774 local governments — the amount the NNPC paid into the federation account for distribution to this three tiers of government came to N4.3 trillion and NNPC alone took and spent N3.8 trillion.
“Which means the cost of running NNPC is much more than the cost of running the Federal Government. That tells you how much is missing, what is mismanaged, what is stolen, they are huge figures.”
“If NNPC needs to spend money, it is obliged to prepare its budget like every other business enterprise. That budget will be scrutinized by the executive and forwarded to the National Assembly and the National Assembly will accordingly appropriate it.
“If the federal government cannot spend without appropriation, why should any agency spend without appropriation?”
The Edo state governor also noted that president Buhari promised that henceforth, all monies must go to the federation account.
“What you need you budget for, Nigeria cannot continue with you earn the money and spend it. Where is transparency? Where is the role of the National Assembly? So if you were doing that you won’t have a situation where the NNPC alone will spend N3.8 trillion and remit to the federal, states and local governments N4.3 trillion which means NNPC is taking about 47 per cent and that explains all the leakages you are talking about.”
“We are not reinventing the wheel, that is the way it used to be and that is the way the constitution says it should,” he said.

“They are planning to even send me to prison. Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! They have nothing to offer. They only say ‘I will’, ‘I will’,”

PATERNITY TALK............. SHOCKING STATISTICS

Lagos DNA expert, Dr. Oyinwola Azeez has revealed 40% of every first born in all families are not from their fathers. Oyinwola who has been practising this trade for years spoke from his record to City People magazine in his Lagos hospital. Hear him;

I can tell you this happens to so many men. Do you know that 40percent of most of the first born don’t belong to their so called biological fathers; all over the world, reason? Most of the ladies often have one or two boyfriends, he said.

Mr Oyinwola however said he ventured into the trade after his own personal experience. He lost his wife and decided to give another woman a chance. He met this lady in London and invited her to Germany when he went for a visit. She came, they made love and that was it. After one year she called him to say, well that night’s love making has resulted into twins, he was shocked and then said okay. Continue...

After a while, he flew to London at exactly when the twins were one, he went with one of his friends and they had a birthday celebration for the kids. He started taking responsibilities, after two years he bought her a car.

After the whole scene, it was already four years that he lost his wife and wanted to give marriage a second chance. So he flew to London again, but before flying he told his brothers about the twins and said, he will carry out a DNA test, and if they were his he will be bringing them home, his brother agreed and he left. When he got to London, they went for a DNA test, while waiting for the test, they flew to Italy for dinner. After a while when they got back to London, he remembered the test and said, Lady let me check my mail, lo and behold the kids were not his. He was disappointed and he left.

But before then, he was already planning to move her in to Nigeria. She was already dictating to the carpenter the way she wanted her room to be and so on. The whole plans got shattered because she lied, that was how I would have been training another man’s children, he explained.

ROCHAS AND FASHOLA...... FUNNY PICS

As it is obvious, this is a photo of Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and his Imo State counterpart, Rochas Okorocha; the only thing is you have to stop whatever you are doing to take a closer look at the picture. Both are APC members and since the photo started going viral a few hours ago, it’s got everyone wondering what could have led to two state executives into tugging at each other’s ears while smiling along with it. The photo of the two governors was taken at an event and it leaves everybody who sees it thinking: is this the new way of showing solidarity or there is more than meets the eye?...

RICHEST NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER

Former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Kalu Uche have emerged as the highest paid Nigerian football players at the moment. This was made known in the recently compiled report of Nigerian footballers' earners list.
The new report has it that the former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni is  the 'Richest Nigerian Player'. It says Aiyegbeni and Kalu Uche are Nigerian highest earners in Europe in the 2014/15 season. The two international players earn over $2.5 million each year. While the next in the list is Chelsea FC midfielder Mikel Obi and Sounder Seattle striker, Obafemi Martins who earns $2 million per year.

RONALDO VS MESSI AGAIN!!! UCL HIGHEST GOAL SCORERS

The Portuguese forward needs just one goal to surpass his Barcelona rival and the former Real Madrid striker as the continent's top marksman
Cristiano Ronaldo can pull clear of Barcelona rival Lionel Messi and former team-mate Raul and become the all-time leading goalscorer in European competitions if he scores for Real Madrid in Tuesday's Champions League clash against Schalke.

The Portuguese netted in the first leg of the sides' second-round tie in Gelsenkirchen last month to draw level with the Argentine attacker and the former Spain skipper on 76 strikes in Europe overall. A goal in the return at the Santiago Bernabeu will see him top the continental scoring charts ahead of Messi's meeting with Manchester City at Camp Nou next week.

Raul needed 168 games with Real and Schalke to reach 76 goals, while Ronaldo required just 117 and Messi only 95 to hit the same number.

The Argentine also leads the way with 75 goals in the Champions League, with Cristiano two behind on 73 and Raul's long-standing record of 71 now relegated to third place.

Ronaldo's 76 are made up of 73 Champions League strikes, one in the competition's qualifiers which does not count in his overall tally for the tournament and two in the Uefa Super Cup against Sevilla back in August.

Messi, meanwhile, has scored 75 of his 76 in the Champions League, with the other coming in Barca's Uefa Super Cup success against Porto in 2011.

Real lead Schalke 2-0 heading into the second leg.

Cleaner Who Returned N12m Narrates Her Story

The story of Josephine Agwu shows that with the existence of wise and humble Nigerians, the country will not only survive but also prosper.

Miss Agwu works as a cleaner with Patovilki, a concessionaire handling the cleaning of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Vanguard starts. On her ordinary working day the woman found $28,000 and other foreign currencies totaling about N12m in one of the toilets. She never kept this money and did not even think about it, but refunded the whole sum to the owner.
Josephine confesses she has no regrets over her decision as she is sure it was the right one.
Interestingly, the woman was badly mocked in social media by some users who called her mad and silly.
The Lagos State House of Assembly, last Monday, concluded plans to invite and honour Ms Agwu. While her employer increased her salary from N7,800 to N15,000 monthly.

Josephine Agwu never hesitated and immediately returned the money to the owner
Speaking about the consequences of her decision, the cleaner said:
“On the part of my management, they are happy, all my supervisors. In short, they are doing good things for me. Now, they carry me like egg, even my MD.”
When the owner returned after his money, he counted and realized that the whole sum was present, he simply looked at Agwu and walked away. For the woman, it was already the third time she had returned lost bags with big money inside.

Some considered Josephine Agwu mad
Josephine Ugwu revived the experience and spoke about her feelings:
“I am from Enugu State, from Obonkpa in Nsukka Local Government. I live at Agbotukunyo in Agege. The incident happened on the 23rd of January 2015. I was on morning duty. So as I was sweeping around 6:30pm, I saw the bag on the ground and there were some passengers there so I thought that the bag could belong to one of them. But as I closed at 7:20pm, the person to relieve me on duty came that time.”

“I was going to the toilet again, I saw the same bag there. Then I told the passengers sitting there that they should be mindful of the bag because once they announce the flight they may forget it. They replied that the bag did not belong to them. Three of the passengers left, so I then picked the bag and took it to the FAAN security people. At first, they put the bag on the screening machine, before they opened the bag and discovered that there were many envelops in the bag containing money in different currencies including dollars.

“As they were counting it, I saw an NDLEA woman accompanied by one man and both of them were coming towards us. They said that the man could be the owner of the bag. So when they came in, they interviewed the man and the man mentioned the amount of money and the colour of the bag. Before then, they had counted the money and it was exactly the amount that the man said.

“Then they carried the money and gave to the man for him to count. After counting, they asked him if the money was complete, he said yes and they snapped him picture. They asked him again about three times and they told the man that, ‘look at the woman that picked your bag’, and the man was looking at me. His name is Mr. Obinna Samuel. They told him that he should thank his God that if it were another person, that person would have run away with the bag but this woman didn’t do that. So I left and the man took the money and put inside the bag and went away.

The humble worker worth of emulation
“Then FAAN [Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria] security personnel called me back, and they took my number On-Duty-Card (ODC) and my name. That was how it happened. People are praising me, FAAN said that they are going to give me automatic employment but I have not heard from them till now.”
Patovilki administration represented by Mrs. Eunice Anumudu, Manager, Airport Zone, said in the interview given over the weekend:
“Since the incident, people have been reacting to it and they have been praising her for what she has done, and that she did well and several people have been calling her.

African Independent Television (AIT) owners received N10 billion to produce and air negative documentaries on leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a SaharaReporters investigation shows.

Raymond Dokpesi

SaharaReporters learnt that the Minister for Petroleum Affairs, Diezani Allison-Madueke is bankrolling the documentary while the scripts and voice overs are being prepared and cut with the help of the Nigeria Television Authority and some Nollywood production companies and working for President Jonathan's re-election.

As a result of the massive deal, AIT, which was in poor financial shape that its principal owner, Raymond Dokpesi, had decided to sell it to the banks to which the station owed several billions of Naira, is now back in good standing. It has also become considerably bolder because of the backing of Mrs. Allison-Madueke and other powerful government officials behind the deal.

Our investigation reveals that AIT receives N5 million each time an episode of any of the documentaries is aired on their channels in different Nigerian markets.

Apart from the cost of producing and airing the documentaries, SaharaReporters found that a team of high-priced lawyers has also been mobilized with about N3 billion to handle any legal threats that may arise from the documentaries. Just last week, APC chieftain Bola Tinubu sued AIT over the documentary on him.

SaharaReporters learned that the next in the series will focus on the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Our source, who didn't want to reveal the content, said the objective of that show will be to “destroy” Prof. Osinbajo's position as a strong moral leader in the Christian community.

"The idea is to make the Christians who have left Jonathan because of Osinbajo's entry into the Presidential race to have a rethink," our source stated.

“The PDP is still failing the basic mathematics,” a political analyst told SaharaReporters. “They can squander all of the money in the Central Bank trying to damage the reputation of everyone in the opposition, but how does that provide a cover for the ineptitude and corruption of the Goodluck Jonathan government? Does that explain why Nigeria is far worse than they found it? That is the question Nigerians will be answering when they go to the polls in three weeks.”

Welbeck grabs winner as Arsenal dump Manchester United out of FA Cup

Danny Welbeck scored the winner against Manchester United, as Arsenal progressed to the semi-finals of this season’s FA Cup.
The England striker, who came up through the ranks at Old Trafford, moved to the Emirates last summer for £16m, after new manager Louis van Gaal deemed him not good enough.
Arsene Wenger’s men took the lead, after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain danced through United’s defence and set up Nacho Monreal to finish calmly past David De Gea. Wayne Rooney equalized few minutes later, as both sides went into the break level.
Antonio Valencia’s back pass was intercepted by Welbeck and the former Red Devil rounded off De Gea to make it 2-1.
Angel Di Maria was sent off after picking up to quick yellow cards, as the home team’s last hope of silverware this campaign vanished
